기초 영문법 - 지시 대명사

1. 지시 대명사는 특정한 사람이나 사물을 가리키는 말이다.

2. 가까이 있는 사물이나 사람은 this, these

멀리 있는 사물이나 사람은 that, those로 나타낸다.

지시대명사의 종류

① 사물을 가리키는 대명사로 3인칭에 해당

② 단수일 때는 this, that을, 복수일 때는 these, those

③ this / that이 사람을 가리킬 때는 '이 사람', '저 사람'을 의미

1. 같은 대상을 두 번째 언급할 때 : 지시 대명사 -> 인칭 대명사로 바꿔준다.

ex) This is a car. It is red.

This is Mr. Kim. He is my math teacher.

That is my sister. She is six years old.

Those are elephants. They live in Africa.

지시 대명사와 지시 형용사

① <this / that + 단수 명사나 셀 수 없는 명사>

② <these / those + 복수 명사>

Those boxes (복수 명사) are mine. - 지시 형용사

Those are not my boxes. - 지시 대명사

한마디로 this / that / these / those 뒤에 명사가 있으면 지시 형용사이다.

this, that, these, those는 지시 형용사로도 사용

ex) This is not my pen. - 지시 대명사

This pen is not mine. - 지시 형용사

These are your books. - 지시 대명사

These books are yours. - 지시 형용사

인칭 대명사를 이용하여 질문에 답하세요.

A : It is a mouse.

A : They are three buckets.

A : They are three pandas.

Q : Who is that?

A : He is Harry Potter.
